1 Day Wine & Food Meander Perth, Swan District, Perth Hills

| Breakfast in beautiful Perth then hit the road for the half hour drive out to the historic Swan Valley, Australia’s oldest and most ethnically diverse wine region in the centre of the appellation. Here you will find a charming world of superb classic warm climate wines, delicious fresh produce, fine restaurants and man-made attractions. The area is distinctive for its very old vines and the beautiful namesake Swan River meandering through its heart. You will experience history and tradition at every turn and be charmed by the region’s delightful southern and eastern European influences. From the Valley swing up into nearby Perth Hills region with its lovely native bush, valleys, vales and charming early settler hamlets. This is one of WA’s star emerging wine regions and although only a short drive from the Swan Valley its elevation allows for the production of a wonderful array of vibrant cooler climate styles. Lunch at one of the superb Hills restaurants, do a little more tasting and be back in Perth for dinner! |

3 Day Wine & Food Discovery Tour Peel, Geographe, Margaret River

Day One: Begin your journey with an easy drive south to the Peel Wine Region. One of WA’s marvellous emerging food and wine centres, Peel is a travelling gourmet’s delight. From the sparkling Indian Ocean and tranquil Peel inlet to the undulating bushland of the Darling Range the region offers superb award-winning wineries dotted through the countryside. There’s also a selection of wonderful local produce in surrounding areas, and great waterside eateries in lively Mandurah. Try the famous local blue manna crab while in the area with a glass of fine local white.
Day Two: Take off south down the Harvest Highway, renowned for its olive oils, orchards, meat and dairy products and much more. Welcome to the Geographe region! This region has quickly become recognised for its outstanding terroir and opulent, fruit driven red and white varietal styles. Weave your way along the glorious Ferguson Valley and discover why the wines from this region have the judges giving the area the big thumbs up! Overnight in cosmopolitan Bunbury with its funky cafes and nightlife.
Day Three: Rise early and head south through Geographe to the renowned Margaret River Wine Region. Spend the day sampling the many world-class wines and local delicacies produced in this celebrated destination. Stop for a sumptuous winery lunch then continue your journey of discovery visiting a few galleries and attractions. Make the easy drive back to the city and spend an evening out on the town in Perth or Fremantle.

7 Day WA Wine & Food Gourmet Odyssey Great Southern, Pemberton, Manjimup, Blackwood Valley, Margaret River, Geographe, Peel, Fremantle

Day One: Fast track to the Great Southern Wine Region and begin your Wine & Food Odyssey in historic Albany. Here you will find some of the State’s finest cuisine and cool climate varietal wines at numerous premier restaurants and cellar doors. The Great Southern produces an impressive range of fresh produce including berries, lamb, beef, dairy, marron and arguably the best oysters in the world.
Day Two: Be sure to swing up to the splendid Porongorup Ranges, rural Mount Barker and Frankland for a true taste of the unique local wine styles.
Day Three: Head west to Denmark with its stunning forest, beautiful beaches and rugged coastal scenery. This is also a wine sub-region with a mighty reputation for vibrant riesling, fruit driven shiraz and complex elegant cabernets.
Day Four: Track west for a picnic at Nornalup or Walpole before the easy drive to the majestic tall forest country of Pemberton and Manjimup. Here there has been a quiet wine revolution going on with fine Burgundian style wines as well as the Bordeaux classics. This is also black truffle, trout and marron country so don’t leave before sampling these local delicacies.
Day Five: Make your way up to Bridgetown and the lovely Blackwood Valley, home to a growing number of excellent small wineries producing impressive whites and reds. There is also a thriving local food industry so it’s worth spending a day exploring the outlets and eateries.
Day Six: Follow the scenic Blackwood Valley over to quaint rustic Nannup and make the easy drive to the Margaret River Wine Region. This is gourmet heaven with its great cabernets, chardonnay, olives, cheeses, preserves and chocolates.
Day Seven: From here turn north to the Geographe Region. Why not swing up the Ferguson Valley, with its magnificent undulating rural vistas, then join the Harvest Highway for the run up to Peel. Enjoy a lazy lunch by the waterside in Mandurah before meandering back to Perth via historic Fremantle. This is WA’s seafood centre and a most fitting place for travelling gourmands to end their Food & Wine Odyssey.
